1990...the journey continues...
Ravi
has gone to America to study. That's okay! He was playing wrong chords anyway
:). In fact, he was playing the wrong instrument! Was trained to play the
Sitar, but keys... uh oh! Didn't gel.
Enter Johnjit ("johnny, johnny... yes papa...)
"Good lord, thats how you play keyboards!" Let's do 'Jump' and 'Highway Star' (keyboard solos you know...)"
"Guys, practice on Sundays 10 to 5 P.M."
Shows, shows and shows--IIT, AIIMS, JMC, UCMS...
Second original composition - "Lovin' U is a crime." Little Doc Boy composed and you know, the rest are listening. (Jitty listened anyway. He had to. He's my brother.)
Euphoria is now seriously into original compositions.
"Are they crazy. it won't last. What are they thinking? Original comps in India??"
Hey the babes are freaking out! They really haven't stopped :). Euphoria's legendary appeal (ahem). Puts off their boyfriends. (yeah sure ;)
July 19, 1990: Anuj "Coca Cola" Bhatia joins. Anuj--dimples, bermudas, baritone, accent, super humour (he can make a cadaver crack up) and blues at its coolest. Delhi's top guitarists still swear by his playing. We still sear by the freshness, charm and sensible playing he brought to Euphoria. Composes the solo for "Lovin'..." and now there are 3 dreamers - Anuj, Jitty and I.
December 31, 1990: We do our own version of Triumph's "24 Hours" on DD. Recorded at ADCAMP, its an instant sensation.
"They look cute."
Euphoria Mark 2 - Ashok, Sunil, Anuj, John, Jitty and Polly.
